A Madd-Yaa, or Madd Waw, Followed by a Voweled Yaa, or Waw:

Madd Tamkeen occurs in those two cases of yaa, and waw; have a look at the examples:

A) Yaa-Madd Followed by a Voweled Yaa:

Example: في يُوسف  /fee Yusuf/ – الذي يُقرض  /alathee Yuqredhu/

Here, we empower/ elongate the yaa-Madd for two counts, not to be emerged into the next yaa voweled with damma.

b) Waw-Madd Followed by a Voweled Waw:

Example: وهاجروا وَجاهدوا  /wa hajaroo wa jahadoo/  فتفشلوا وَتذهب ريحكم /fatafshaloo wa tathhaba rihukum/.

Here, we empower/elongate the waw-Madd for two counts, not to be emerged into the next waw voweled with fat-ha.

Waw-Madd/ Yaa-Madd Preceded by  Yaa with Kasra/ Waw with Dhamma:

1. Yaa-Madd Preceded by Yaa with Kasra:

Example: يُحييكم  /Yuhyeekum/ – أفعيينا  /afa’yeena/ 

Here, before the yaa-Madd comes the yaa voweled with kasra ِ, corresponding to the sound of yaa-Madd, so that we apply Madd Tamkeen to pronounce both sounds clearly, without emerging.

2. Waw-Madd Preceded by Waw with Dhamma:

Example: داوُود  /Dawood/ – الغاوُون  /al ghawoon/

Here, before the waw-Madd comes the waw with dhamma ُ , corresponding to the sound of waw-Madd, so that we apply Madd Tamkeen to empower the pronunciation of waw-Madd.
