1. Verses of Surah Al-Ikhlas (Chapter 112)
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ١ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ ٢ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ٣ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ ٤
“Say, He is Allah, [who is] One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent.”
“Qul huwa Allahu ahad, Allahu assamad, Lam yalid wa lam yulad, Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.”
Surah Al-Ikhlas is short yet encapsulates the essence of Islamic monotheism. Memorizing it is rewarding and practical for daily prayers. It emphasizes Allah’s uniqueness and perfection, making it a cornerstone of faith for every Muslim.
2. Verses of Surah Al-Asr (Chapter 103)
وَٱلْعَصْرِ ١ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ ٢ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ ٣
“By time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds And advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.”
“Wal-asr, Inna al-insana lafi khusr, Illa alladhina amanu wa ‘amilu as-salihati wa tawa saw bil-haqqi wa tawa saw bil-sabr.”
This surah serves as a powerful reminder of faith, good deeds, and the importance of mutual encouragement. It urges believers to value time and strive for collective righteousness, truthfulness, and patience to avoid loss in this world and the Hereafter.
3. Verses of Surah Al-Kawthar (Chapter 108)
إِنَّآ أَعْطَيْنَٰكَ ٱلْكَوْثَرَ ١ فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ ٢ إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلْأَبْتَرُ ٣
“Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muhammad], al-Kawthar. So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone]. Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.”
“Inna atainaka kawthar, Fa-salli li rabbika wanhar, Inna shani’aka huwa al-abtar.” (108:1-3)
Known as the shortest surah in the Quran, Surah Al-Kawthar is simple and meaningful. It highlights gratitude and devotion to Allah while reassuring the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) of abundant blessings and the ultimate defeat of his adversaries.


5. Surah Al-Falaq (Chapter 113)
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ ١ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ٢ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ٣ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ ٤ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ٥
“Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak From the evil of that which He created And from the evil of darkness when it settles And from the evil of the blowers in knots And from the evil of an envier when he envies.’”
“Qul a’udhu bi rabbil-falaq, Min sharri ma khalaq, Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab, Wa min sharri an-naffaa-thati fil-‘uqad, Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.” (113:1-5)
This surah is a prayer for protection from all forms of harm, whether physical, spiritual, or emotional. It teaches Muslims to rely on Allah alone for safety and peace.
6. Surah An-Nas (Chapter 114)
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ١ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ٢ إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ ٣ مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ٤ الَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ٥ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ٦
“Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer— Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind— From among jinn and mankind.’”
“Qul a’udhu bi rabbin-nas, Malikin-nas, Ilahin-nas, Min sharri al-waswasi al-khannas, Alladhi yuwaswisu fi sudur in-nas, Minal-jinnati wa an-nas.” (114:1-6)
This surah emphasizes seeking refuge in Allah from the whispers of Shaytan and evil influences. It serves as a daily reminder of the importance of spiritual vigilance.
7. Surah Al-Masad (Chapter 111)
تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ ١ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ ٢ سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ٣ وَامْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّٰلَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ ٤ فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍ ٥
“May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame And his wife [as well]—the carrier of firewood— Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.”
“Tabbat yada abii lahabin watab, Ma aghna ‘anhu maluhu wa ma kasab, Sayasla naran dhaat al-lahab, Wa amraatuhu hammalata al-hatab, Fi jidiha hablum min masad.” (111:1-5)
This surah reflects Allah’s disapproval of arrogance and enmity toward His Messenger. It serves as a lesson that wealth and power cannot save one from divine justice.
8. Surah Al-Qadr (Chapter 97)
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ ١ وَمَآ أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ ٢ لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ ٣ تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَائِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ ٤ سَلاَمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ ٥
“Indeed, We sent the Quran down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”
“Inna anzalnahu fee laylatil qadr, Wa ma adraka ma laylatul qadr, Laylatul qadri khayrun min alfi shahr, Tanazzalu al-mala’ikatu wa ar-ruhu fiha bi idhni rabbihim min kulli amr, Salamun hiya hatta matla’il fajr.” (97:1-5)
This surah emphasizes the greatness of Laylatul Qadr, a night of immense blessings and mercy. It motivates Muslims to seek Allah’s forgiveness and rewards during this special time.
9. Surah Al-Duhaa (Chapter 93)
وَالضُّحَىٰ ١ وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ٢ مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ٣ وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ٤ وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰ ٥ أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَآوَىٰ ٦ وَوَجَدَكَ ضَلاًّ فَهَدَىٰ ٧ وَوَجَدَكَ عَائِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ ٨ فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ ٩ وَأَمَّا السَّائِلَ فَلَا تَنفُرْ ١٠ وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ١١
“By the morning brightness And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.”
“Wa ad-duhaa, Wa allayli idha saja, Ma wadda’aka rabbuka wa ma qala, Walal-akhiratu khayrun laka min al-ula, Wa laysa yu’ṭīka rabbuka fatarda.” (93:1-5)
This surah reassures the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and every believer that Allah’s care and blessings are constant. It instills hope and trust in Allah, even during difficult times.
10. Surah Al-Fatiha (Chapter 1)
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ١ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ٢ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ٣ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ٤ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ٥ اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ٦ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا الضَّالِّينَ ٧
Surah Al-Fatiha is essential for every unit of Salah. Its seven verses are concise yet hold the essence of guidance and praise for Allah.
Transliteration:
“Bismillahi ar-Rahmani ar-Rahim, Alhamdu lillahi rabbil ‘alamin, Ar-Rahmanir-Rahim, Maliki yawmid-din, Iyyaka na’budu wa iyyaka nasta’in, Ihdinas-siratal-mustaqim, Siratal-ladhina an’amta ‘alayhim ghayril-maghdubi ‘alayhim walad-dallin.” (1:1-7)
11. Ayat Al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255)
اللَّهُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ
“Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence.”
Although slightly longer, Ayat Al-Kursi is a verse of immense virtue and protection, recited during Salah and before sleep.
Transliteration:
“Allahu la ilaha illa Huwa, Al-Hayyul-Qayyum, La ta’khudhuhu sinatu wa la nawm, Lahu ma fissamawati wa ma fil-ard, Man dhal-ladhi yashfa’u ‘indahu illa bi-idhnihi, Ya’lamu ma bayna aydeehim wa ma khalfahum, Wa la yuhituna bishay’in min ‘ilmihi illa bima sha’a, Wasi’a kursiyuhus-samawati wal-ard, Wa la ya’uduhu hifzuhuma, Wa Huwa al-Aliyyul-Adheem.” (2:255)
12. Ayah from Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286)
لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.”
This verse offers reassurance that Allah’s commands are within our capacity to follow and that He never overburdens us.
Transliteration:
“La yukallifu Allahu nafsan illa wus’aha.” (2:286)
13. Ayah from Surah At-Tawbah (9:51)
قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوْلَانَا وَعَلَىٰ اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
“Say, ‘Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector.’”
This verse emphasizes trust in Allah’s decree and His role as the protector of the believers.
Transliteration:
“Qul lan yusibana illa ma kataballahu lana, huwa mawlana.” (9:51)
14. Ayah from Surah Ash-Sharh (94:5-6)
فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٦ إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٧
“For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.”
A reminder of Allah’s mercy, this verse assures that after every difficulty, ease will follow.
Transliteration:
“Fa inna ma’al usri yusra, Inna ma’al usri yusra.” (94:5-6)
