Islam is the true religion descended from The Creator for mankind to save them from being lost and astray in life. Allah’s Holy Book, Qur’an, is proven to be evidently inimitable, miraculous, and divinely protected from any humans’ fabrication, or distortion, and from perishing over the times: this great blessing is exclusive to Quran only:

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ (الحجر: 9)

[It is certainly We Who have revealed the Reminder, (Qur’an), and it is certainly We Who will preserve it.] (Al-Hijr: 9).

They show beyond doubt that the Qur’an is purely a divine revelation, only from The Knowing Creator of this universe; they can’t be previously known by any human on earth, as Qur’an was revealed -stating them and even more- so many years ago, so long before those prophecies get fulfilled! 

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ ٣-  إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌۭ يُوحَىٰ ٤ (النجم: 3-4)

[Nor does he speak of his own whims. (3) It is only a revelation sent down ˹to him˺. (4)] [Al-Najm: 3-4].

They are a lot of the prophecies that were mentioned in Qur’an and Sunnah, way long before they got fulfilled. Many prophecies were fulfilled at several times, like the defeat of Rome, and their victory, after, the split up of the Muslims, after the assassination of Uthman Ibn ‘Affan, and so on.

1. The Creation of the Fetus: 

The human’s creation is always one of the mysteries of the universe; only recently, after the medicine has greatly advanced, scientists discovered some details about the human, miraculous body, like the fetus, while the Qur’an already stated that in detail and its gradual process, hundreds of years ago!

﴿ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ … (الإنسان: 2)

[˹For˺ indeed, We ˹alone˺ created humans from a drop of mixed fluids,…] [Al-Insan: 2].

-Here, the Qur’an states that human is Nutfah Amshajinn, which means ‘a mingled liquid’ from the male and female agents, the discharge of the father, and the mother. Not only that, but also more precisely, in Qur’an, even the developing process of the human body from fetus, till being a whole body is mentioned!

ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةًۭ فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةًۭ فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَـٰمًۭا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَـٰمَ لَحْمًۭا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ ١٤

[then We developed the drop into a clinging clot, then developed the clot into a lump ˹of flesh˺, then developed the lump into bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought it into being as a new creation. So Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators.] [ Al-Mu’minun: 14].

2. The Fetus’ Sex Determined by the Male:

For so long years of ignorance, people preferring a certain gender always blame ‘the luck’, or ‘the mother’, for not having the boy, for example. Just recently, medicine discovered that it is the man whose chromosome determines the gender of the baby; if his ‘sperm’ carrying chromosome x, impregnating the ovum, the baby will be female (xx), and if his is y, the baby will be a boy (XY). That fertilizing, decisive process of the baby-gender is stated so simply in Qur’an: 

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةًۭ مِّن مَّنِىٍّۢ يُمْنَىٰ (القيامة:37)

 [Were they not ˹once˺ a sperm-drop emitted?] [Al-Qiyamah: 37].

3. Water in Every Living Being’s Creation:

After several, recent, scientific experiments, it is discovered that all living creatures have a high percent of water in their body: 50-90% of water, and that water is key to survival. 1400 years ago, that fact was already mentioned in Qur’an: 

… وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّ … (القيامة: 30(

[…And We created from water every living thing…] [Al-Qiyamah: 30].

4. Darkness of the Deep Seas:

When the Qur’an was revealed more than 1400 years ago, there were no submarines to discover deep down the oceans. However, Allah Almighty says in the Qur’an: 

أَوْ كَظُلُمَـٰتٍۢ فِى بَحْرٍۢ لُّجِّىٍّۢ يَغْشَىٰهُ مَوْجٌۭ مِّن فَوْقِهِۦ مَوْجٌۭ مِّن فَوْقِهِۦ سَحَابٌۭ ۚ ظُلُمَـٰتٌۢ بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ إِذَآ أَخْرَجَ يَدَهُۥ لَمْ يَكَدْ يَرَىٰهَا ۗ وَمَن لَّمْ يَجْعَلِ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ نُورًۭا فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن نُّورٍ (النور: 40)

[Or ˹their deeds are˺ like the darkness in a deep sea, covered by waves upon waves, topped by ˹dark˺ clouds. Darkness upon darkness! If one stretches out their hand, they can hardly see it. And whoever Allah does not bless with light will have no light!] [An-Nur: 40].

After getting into the deep seas, by those recently-invented, special submarines, it is found out that it is total darkness deep down, as the light of the sunrays can’t penetrate all those layers till reaching the depth; the deeper it goes down, the more the light fades away! Only lights of specially-equipped submarine can help, deep down there!

5. The Expansion of the Universe: 

Only in the 20^th, the astronomers discovered that galaxies continuously moving away from one another in expanding way, and that requires huge energy and substance to fill such wideness left between the galaxies; Stephen Hawking wrote about this universe-expansion as “one of the greatest, intellectual revolutions of the 20^th”, while it is already mentioned 1400 years ago in the Qur’an! 

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍۢ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ (الذاريات: 47)

[We built the universe with ˹great˺ might, and We are certainly expanding ˹it˺.] (Adh-Dhariyat: 47].

1. How Fast the Time Will Be: 

Nowadays, we all feel like we are in a race, rushing to do everything, and we can’t keep up with most things to get done. Everything comes and goes quickly, even before noticing! Indeed, ‘time is flying’, like literally! It is an affliction of our time, and it was not like that before, as our grandfathers confirm. The Prophet (PBUH), so many years ago, said so: 

He (ﷺ) said: “The Hour will not begin until time passes quickly, so a year will be like a month, and a month will be like a week, and a week will be like a day, and a day will be like an hour, and an hour will be like the burning of a braid of palm leaves.”

2. Killing For No Reason:

Whether the mass killing of innocent people, or the individual killings happening here and there, you find no reason for all those killings! That was already a prophecy:

the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “A time would come when the murderer would not know why he has committed the murder, and the victim would not know why he has been killed.”

3. Fornication in Public:

Fornication becomes everywhere, on the internet, and media, and even publicly, in the streets of the Western countries. Pornography becomes common, usual, and even called for openly! It did happen, and already keeps spreading!

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There will be prevalence of open illegal sexual intercourse.” We can all witness such plague! If not in our Eastern streets, yet, in social media, on our mobile phones!

4. Years of Treachery:

The Prophet (ﷺ) foretold: “There will come to the people years of treachery, when the liar will be regarded as honest, and the honest man will be regarded as a liar; the traitor will be regarded as faithful, and the faithful man will be regarded as a traitor; and the Ruwaibidah will decide matters.’ It was said: ‘Who are the Ruwaibidah?’ He said: ‘Vile and base men who control the affairs of the people.’”

I think that this hadith is self-explaining! As we live those years of deceit, where everything is upside down, and no one can see the truth clearly. Nowadays, especially with the widespread social media, anyone can say anything, without any knowledge! And the positions are given to untrusted ones.

6- Considering the Impermissible Permissible: 

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Among my followers, there will be some people who will consider the impermissible sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as permissible.”

Unfortunately, nowadays, you find some Muslims, themselves, doing those impermissible acts, out of ignorance, carelessness, or even ‘trend’! They claim that doing those are just ‘acts of freedom to keep up with modern life’! If you try to remind them of their impermissibility (haram), they may tell you: “mind your business”, and call you an extremist!
