1. Dua For Children’s Protection
It is Sunnah to pray for your kid’s protection all the time, here are some important Dua for child protection.
“O Allah, be gentle with our daughters and sons. O Allah, avert from them all harm, for none can avert harm except You. Ease for them every goodness, for none can bring goodness except You. Complete Your blessings upon them.”
Transliteration: | Allahumma lutf bi-banātinā wa abnā’inā. Allahumma isrif ‘anhum kulla sū’in lā yasrifu al-sū’a illā Anta. Wa yassir lahum kulla khayrin lā yasūqu al-khayra illā Anta. Wa atimm ‘alayhim ni‘amak. |
| In Arabic: | “اللهم الطف ببناتنا وأبنائنا، اللهم اصرف عنهم كل سوء لا يصرف السوء إلا أنت، ويسر لهم كل خير لا يسوق الخير إلا أنت، وأتمم عليهم نعمك”. |
‘O Allah, place my children under Your protection, care, safety, and shelter. Shield them with Your refuge, guard them with Your might, surround them with Your grace, and cover them with Your concealment from every devil, human, jinn, oppressor, and envier, and from the harm of everything that You have control over. Verily, You have power over all things.”
| Transliteration: | Allahumma aj‘alhum fī ḥifẓika wa kanafika wa amānika wa jiwārika wa ‘iyādhika wa ḥizbika wa ḥirzika wa luṭfika wa sitrika min kulli shayṭānin wa insin wa jān, wa bāghin wa ḥāsidin, wa min sharri kulli shay’in anta ākhidhun bi-nāṣiyatihi. Innaka ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr. |
| In Arabic: | اللهم اجعلهم في حفظك وكنفك وأمانك وجوارك وعياذك وحزبك وحرزك ولطفك وسترك من كل شيطان وإنس وجان وباغ وحاسد ومن شر كل شيء أنت آخذ بناصيته إنك على كل شيء قدير. |
2. Dua for Children’s Safety
O Allah, protect my children and do not make my trial in them. Guard them from every harm or evil that could befall them. O Allah, just as You have protected Your Noble Book, protect my children from the accursed devil.
| Transliteration: | Allahumma ihfaz awladi wa la taj‘al ibtilai fihim, wa ihfazhum min kull makrooh aw sharr qad yuseebuhum. Allahumma kama hafizta Kitabaka al-Kareem, ihfaz abna’i min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem. |
| In Arabic: | اللهم احفظ أولادي ولا تجعل ابتلائي فيهم، واحفظهم من كل مكروه أو شر قد يصيبهم، اللهم كما حفظت كتابك الكريم احفظ أبنائي من الشيطان الرجيم. |
3. Dua for Children’s Health
“O Allah, we ask You by Your Most Beautiful Names, Your Supreme Attributes, and by Your mercy that encompasses everything, to protect my children from all harm. Do not leave among us a wound without healing it, nor a pain without soothing it, nor a sickness without curing it. Clothe them in the garments of health and wellness, heal us, and care for them with Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.”
| Transliteration: | Allahumma inna nas’aluka bi-asma’ika al-husna wa bi-sifatikal-‘ula wa bi-rahmatika allati wasi‘at kulla shay’, an tahfaz abna’i min kull sharr, wa an la tadda‘ fina jarhan illa dawitah, wa la alaman illa sakanatah, wa la maradan illa shafaytah, wa albis-hum thawb as-sihha wal-‘afiyah, wa shafi-na, wa tawallahum birahmatika ya arham ar-rahimeen. |
| In Arabic: | اللهم إنا نسألك بأسمائك الحسنى وبصفاتك العلا وبرحمتك التي وسعت كلّ شيء، أن تحفظ أبنائي من كل شر، وألّا تدع فينا جرحاً إلّا داويته، ولا ألماً إلا سكنته، ولا مرضاً إلا شفيته، وألبسهم ثوب الصحة والعافية، وشافِنا، وتولّاهم برحمتك يا أرحم الراحمين. |
4. Dua for The Protection of Family
“O Allah, I entrust to You my children and family, O the One to whom no trust is ever lost. Protect them and grant them well-being from every calamity and affliction, from the harm of diseases and illnesses, from the evil of the night and day’s trials, from the evil eye of every envious person, the malice of every hater, and from bad companions.”
| Transliteration: | Allahumma inni astawdi‘uka dhurriyyati wa ahli ya man la tudhi‘u ‘indahu al-wadaa’i‘, fahfazhum wa ‘aafihim min kulli aafatin wa ‘aahatin, wa min su’i al-asqaam wal-amraadh, wa min sharri tawariq al-layl wal-nahaar, wa min sharr ‘ayn kulli haasid, wa ghilli kulli haaqid, wa min asdiqaa’i al-suu’. |
| In Arabic: | اللَّهمَّ إني أستودعك ذريتي وأهلي يا من لا تضيع عنده الودائع، فاحفظهم وعافهم من كلِّ آفةٍ وعاهةٍ، ومن سوء الأسقام والأمراض، ومن شرِّ طوارق الليل والنهار، ومن شر عين كلِّ حاسدٍ وغلِّ كلِّ حاقدٍ، ومن أصدقاء السوء. |
“O Allah, grant well-being to my family in their bodies, their hearing, their sight, their souls, and their faculties. Make them among those safeguarded from trials by Your mercy, protected from sins, slips, and mistakes through their mindfulness of You, and guided to goodness and righteousness through their obedience to You.”
| Transliteration: | Allahumma ‘afi ahli fi abdanihim wa asma’ihim wa absarihim wa anfusihim wa jawarihihim, waj‘alhum minal mu‘afina minal bala’ birahmatika, wal-ma‘sumeena min adh-dhunubi waz-zalali wal-khata’ bi-taqwakah, wal-muwaffaqeena lil-khayri war-rushdi bita‘atik. |
| In Arabic: | اللَّهمَّ عافي أهلي فِي أبدانهم وأسماعهم وأبصارهم وأنفسهم وجوارحهم، واجعلهم من المعافين من البلاء برحمتك، والمعصومين من الذنوب والزَّلل والخطأ بتقواك، والموفقين للخير والرشد بطاعتك. |
5. Dua for Righteous Children
Raising a righteous child is the best thing a parent can do, a righteous child can be your way to Jannah. According to the Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him): “It is believed that when a person passes away, their actions cease to have an impact except for three things: continuous acts of charity, knowledge that benefits others, and a righteous child who prays for them.”
So let’s pray for our children to be righteous Muslims.
O Allah, I ask You to guide my children and open for them the paths of goodness. Direct them to the ways of success and triumph in this life and the Hereafter. O Allah, guide me and my children among those You have guided, grant me and them health among those You have granted health, take me and them into Your care among those You have cared for, and protect us from the harm of what You have decreed. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted.
| Transliteration: | Allahumma inni as’aluka an tahdi awlaadi wa an taftaha lahum turoq al-khayr, wa turshidahum ila subul al-falah wal-fawz fi al-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma ihdini wa abna’i fiman hadayta, wa ‘aafini wa iyyaahum fiman ‘afayta, wa tawallani wa iyyaahum fiman tawallayta, wa qina sharra ma qadayta, tabarakta Rabbana wa ta‘alayta. |
| In Arabic: | اللهم إنّي أسألك أن تهدي أولادي وأن تفتح لهم طُرق الخير، وتُرشدهم إلى سُبل الفلاح والفوز في الدنيا والآخرة. اللهم اهدني وأبنائي فيمن هديت وعافني وإيّاهم فيمن عافيت، وتولّني وإيّاهم فيمن تولّيت، وقِنا شرّ ما قضيت، تباركت ربّنا وتعاليت. |

Dua for Children in Quran
The Quran includes many beautiful Duas for children, often said by the prophets to seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for their offspring. Here are a few of them:
- “Then and there Zachariah prayed to his Lord, saying, “My Lord! Grant me—by your grace—righteous offspring. You are certainly the Hearer of ˹all˺ prayers.”
| Transliteration: | “Hunalika da‘a Zakariyya rabbahu, qaala Rabbi hab lee min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka Samee‘ud-Du‘aa.” |
| In Arabic: | هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةًۭ طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ |
- “And I seek Your protection for her and her offspring from Satan, the accursed.”
| Transliteration: | “Wa innee u’eeduhuha bika wa dhurriyyataha minash-Shaytaani rajeem.” |
| In Arabic: | وَإِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ |
- “Our Lord! Make us both ˹fully˺ submit to You1 and from our descendants a nation that will submit to You. Show us our rituals, and turn to us in grace. You are truly the Accepter of Repentance, Most Merciful.”
| Transliteration: | “Rabbanaa waj‘alnaa muslimayni laka wa min dhurriyyatinaaa ummatan muslimatan laka wa arinaa manaasikanaa wa tub ‘alainaa innaka antat-Tawwaabur-Raheem.” |
| In Arabic: | رَبَّنَا وَٱجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةًۭ مُّسْلِمَةًۭ لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ |
